Stay Safe

Stay safe this summer... and still get bronzed!

Bronze Ambition products work without exposing yourself to the sun but they do not provide any sun protection so you will still need to apply a suncream with a high SPF value when you venture out into the sun.

Most skin cancers are caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or sunbeds. Our Skinsafe Ambition is to provide some information on how to protect you and your family in the sun.

Avoid sunburn to keep your skin healthy

Over exposure to the sun can cause damage to the collagen and elastin fibres in the skin causing skin to lose its plumpness and begin to sag - no one wants to look like an old leather bag! It can also cause fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, thread veins and pigmentation.

The biggest risk though, is skin cancer. Protect your skin from the sun's rays when you're out and about in the sun by wearing a broad spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF.

Children's skin is particularly delicate to the suns rays so use SPF 30+ and reapply regularly especially if they are in the water .

Why are sunbeds so dangerous?

Sunbeds are not a 'safe' alternative to sun tanning. Sunbeds give out UV rays just like the sun. Exposure to UV rays, whether from the sun or a sunbed, damages the skin cells which can cause cancer. In fact, the intensity of some types of UV rays from sunbeds can be up to 10-15 times higher than that of the midday sun.

We each have our own tanning limits. No matter how much UV you receive there comes a point when your skin won't get any darker. Boosting your tan by having two sunbed sessions within 24 hours or after sunbathing is particularly harmful.
